The balance is broken. The endgame has begun. And there may be no winners.
The balance is broken. The endgame has begun. And there may be no winners. With the fragile truce between Paladin and Nemesis shattered, the rise of the Gray Knight threatens everything. Old rivalries mean nothing now. If there is any hope of survival, former enemies must stand side by side against a power that could destroy them all. For Rich Witz, this is the final test. To stand a chance, he and his allies must journey beyond anything they have faced before, crossing into strange and dangerous realms where every step pushes them closer to the edge. Each trial brings new power, but also greater risk, as the line between light and dark begins to blur. Because this time, victory is not guaranteed. As the final moves approach, Rich must decide what he is willing to sacrifice, who he can trust, and whether saving the world is possible when both sides are on the brink of collapse. In this epic conclusion to the Chess Quest series, the stakes reach their highest point and the future of civilization hangs in the balance.
Perfect for readers who love:
• Middle grade fantasy with epic final battles
• Chess-inspired strategy and high-stakes conflict
• Complex alliances and shifting loyalties
• Fast-paced, action-driven adventures for ages 10–14
For fans of Percy Jackson, The Unwanteds, and thrilling fantasy where every move counts. The board is set. The players are ready. And the final move could mean checkmate for everyone.
