"I'm a sucker for a good father-daughter story, and the Last Wayfinder is a doozy, filled with fascinating characters in interesting settings and plenty of action, danger, and heroics. Well done, Benjamin Boekweg!"

For twenty years, my job was helping folks by putting right what was wrong, until the influential corporation got me outlawed. So, what was I thinking when I agreed to help a stranded 10-year-old girl who is hunted because of her special gift? With the full might of the well-funded corporation unleashed, space pirates in my way, armored mercenary commandos at every turn, and bounty hunters on my trail, I'd swear the galaxy itself is out to get me.

Award winning Science Fiction author Benjamin Boekweg writes stories with clean language, clean romance, and plenty of fun. He grew up watching Star Wars, Star Trek, the original Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and Babylon 5. He currently lives in Utah, USA with his amazing wife and has two young children. Being an avid dreamer, he transitioned into writing science fiction rather naturally. Some of his most cherished moments are when his children ask him to read his books to them, and when they randomly quote his stories at meal time.
One of his favorite quotes is from Robert Kennedy, "Some men see things as they are, and say why. I dream of things that never were, and say why not."

"Originally intended to be ten separate episodes rather than several related long chapters, Rence Perry is a semi-retired "Wayfinder". He deals with a mega corporation that wants the fruits of their investment, even if it means dissecting a human girl that was born in their lab. Miri is a preteen who has the ability to calm the emotions of human beings that she can view in person. Her skill is worth mega credits if it can be harvested and sold.
The research has been funded by the Westward Galactic Corporation, which has been able to sway governments on several planets to its will. Rence is the last of a group of discontinued government agents called Wayfinders who were established to seek to right wrongs and mete out justice. Now that the Wayfinder program has been shut down, Rence is an outlawed professional lawman. He makes a living transporting people between planets, fighting corruption, and (now that he is "retired" is considering marriage) settling down with a woman with whom he has been associated with for a while.
The romance, work-on-the-frontier, sit-com is intriguing with lots of excitement, fighting, space travel, and adventure. What makes The Last Wayfinder different is the presentation of gunslinger-for-hire into a space drama updated with technology. Rence's augmentation has 70% of his original human body with vastly improved legs, visual enhancements, electronic improvements to his heart, and an extremely quick draw and shoot ability.
Rence's shyness and awkwardness in dealing with expressing his feelings makes him seem to be almost an awkward teenager at times. He is good at improvising and bluffing, leaving wannabe assassins confused or merely distracted as Rence gets his job done. The "Last Wayfinder" is a fun story."
"This is a fast paced action filed story. The hero grows and his motivation changes over time. The hero starts of mercenary but finds himself involved for different reasons. I highly recommend The Last Wayfinder."
"Awesome book that keeps you wanting more. If you love science fiction this is a book for you."
"The heroes are honorable but not infallible, the heroines are much, much more than eye candy, and the villains are dastardly. This fast-paced science fiction/western escapist romp will keep you turning pages and be glad you did."
